Yowzer. Today is Friday, which means that I only have two days left in France. Time flies when you’re having fun, as they say. Living in Toulouse has been the longest I’ve spent in one place for more than three years – and yet there’s still so much to say.
So why am I starting French Fridays? Because I’m planning on writing about France and publishing posts on a Friday? Cunning. But there’s more to it than that.
Here in the Pink City, Narelle coordinates a welcome group for expatriates called English in Toulouse (yep, it’s a group for English speakers in Toulouse. I wasn’t sure I’d stoop so low as to explain that. But, oh yes, I have.)
Each week they organise French Fridays in Café Bapz, where newcomers can seek refuge from the fog of French miscomprehension over a cup of tea. After that, however, it’s time to speak French, with locals who come to improve their English. I’m happy that I can now chat and interview people in French, and for that, special thanks must go to Christel, Sandrine and Magali for their patience.
So, in honour of the many friends I’ve made here, French Fridays is coming this way.
Au revoir and adios. It’s time to learn another language…..
