Learning Spanish in Seville

Seville OrangesHola y Buenos Dias to all.

For two weeks I’m going back to school – complete with dictionary, folders, pens and a packed lunch. The aim? To learn Spanish. So far, I’ve used books and brief forays into the fantastic free services offered online by the BBC, Coffee Break Spanish and Notes from Spain.

Now it’s time to interact with real people – and to have guidance from a teacher who’s in the same room.

My transport arrangements and an error with my online booking meant that I arrived far too early on my first day, so I took a stroll around the neighbourhood. Here’s what I saw….

So far, so good.

Isn't it wonderful in adult life to be able to take time and study a language? I've been doing the same in Japan, and I love it…feels like such an indulgence, but makes the living abroad so much more fun!

Absolutely – and I appreciate it so much more now it's not actually school and not compulsory ;)

Thanks for the Retweet of my blog (post about making time to learn languages). The accent in Seville is quite difficult, but after you learn that you'll have no problem understanding Spanish from anywhere in the world :P Spaniards are very patient and helpful, so you'll learn quickly! Best of luck with!! :)
