Walking the Dragon’s Backbone, China

dragon backbone guilin

Never grow a wishbone, daughter, where your backbone ought to be.

Let’s leave aside the daughter part of the equation for a moment in this much-loved quote from writer Clementine Paddleford and just think about the sentiment.

What are your wishes? And where is your backbone?

The photo: the Dragon’s Backbone

This gorgeous rolling set of green and earth terraces comes from the Guilin section of the #dragonroute thanks to Cathay Pacific UK and China Odyssey Tours. There will be more, much more, about both the area and how the tour system works but today I have more thinking to do.

 Do you?

I have seen this amazing landscaping feat before and it never ceases to amaze me. I don’t know if I will ever be brave enough to hike it, but I love to see the intricate details of it. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh, hike, hike, hike! It’s pretty well laid out with plenty of signposts. Plus, you could always take a guide…

Have your say...
